Luxuriously soft and fun, the perfect description for the FIVE lounge chair. Inspired by the tubular-shaped tentacles of the sea anemones, a creature of the deep ocean.
The sea anemones’ soft and flexible body inspired me to design a playful and bold, yet comfortable lounge chair.

Luxuriously soft and fun, the perfect description for the FIVE lounge chair. Inspired by the tubular-shaped tentacles of the sea anemones, a creature of the deep ocean.
The sea anemones’ soft and flexible body inspired me to design a playful and bold, yet comfortable lounge chair.
The timber base frame follows the same lines and structure of the Five lounge chair's cushion and functions to support both the base and the back, giving a sense of solidity and luxury.
Painstakingly made by hand using a plywood lamination technique, the frame consists of sheets of plywood and 2 layers of timber veneer.
Taking into consideration comfort, design, and environmental sustainability, the Five lounge chair's removable cover and potential for materials to be repurposed formed part of the design's sustainability and longevity development, with the idea this could be a 'forever chair' that could live many lives and be loved many times over.

Synopsis
A tubular silhouette-inspired nested table, its simple form aims to maximise usability while retaining a small footprint.
The wraparound forms the support structure and the pronounced outer edge is influenced by the color gradient of a maidenhair leaf.
High contrast grains of walnut veneer resemble delicate movements of the lines on the maidenhair leaf, whilst the thin shadow line that runs along the length of the leg resembles the thin black stems, This gives an illusion of a slim silhouette of the legs

Inspired by a tubular silhouette, the Haute nested table’s simple form aims to maximise usability while retaining a small footprint.
The elegance of a wraparound structure is complemented by the pronounced outer edge. Its influence is taken from the colour gradient of a maidenhair leaf.
High contrast grains of walnut veneer resemble delicate lines on the maidenhair leaf, whilst the thin shadow line that runs along the length of the leg resembles the thin black stems, providing a striking slim silhouette.
